Decluttering and organizing have always been my thing. As a kid, I could whip a messy room into shape before my mom even pulled into the driveway (trauma response disguised as talent, anyone?). But here’s the truth: efficiency isn’t the same as peace.

As an adult, I carried that same fire-fueled drive into everything—running fast, burning bright, never stopping. On the outside, I looked productive. On the inside, I was exhausted and depressed. My home reflected it all: piles of laundry, unfinished projects, and guilt stacked in the corners.

That’s when I finally started noticing my own imbalances. The clutter in my home wasn’t just about stuff—it was mirroring the clutter in my body and spirit. Some days it looked like overworking. Other days it looked like depression, keeping me stuck on the couch while the mess piled higher. I began untangling generational patterns, letting go of survival strategies that no longer served me, and creating space for a different way of being.

The turning point came when I learned to slow down. I started sitting in stillness (harder than it sounds), listening to my soul, and exploring the wisdom of the Chinese Five Elements. Healing didn’t happen in a straight line—it came in spirals. Each time I circled back to old lessons, I met them with more clarity, more compassion, and a little more room to breathe.

When I first walked into My Mind & Body Collective, I was just hoping for a little peace in the middle of my chaos. I committed to a year of showing up: to classes, to circles, to practices that gave me space to breathe when life felt like too much.

What I found wasn’t a quick fix—it was a spiral. Healing moved inward and outward, sometimes stumbling, sometimes soaring. One week I was crying on my yoga mat, the next I was laughing in meditation. It wasn’t always pretty, but each turn of the spiral brought me closer to balance, to myself, and to the life I actually wanted to live.

That year changed everything. Over time, I went from student to co-owner, which feels a little like being handed the keys to the place that taught me how to stand steady again. Now I get to help shape the same community that shaped me.

Today, My Mind & Body Collective is more than a studio—it’s a home for anyone ready to slow down, breathe, and remember they don’t have to do this alone. We’ve got classes, workshops, and one-on-one sessions to meet you exactly where you are. And whether you’re soaring high or circling back around again, you’ll be welcomed here—mess, magic, and all.
